Prom night is getting closer; I’m somehow excited about it, excited to see how my friends will look in their suits and dresses, excited to find out the worth of my 120 bucks. Everyone will try to look his or her best, cause it’s a once in a lifetime event. Photos captured that day will be stored under the label “HIGH SCHOOL PROM”, and I believe there will not be a second folder under the same label.
To look good, there comes the headache – shopping. I never like shopping at all, because nice clothes never come cheap and cheap clothes are not always nice; and to get cheap and nice clothes means traveling around the world on feet. I just dislike the need to wear suits to prom because it’s pricey. Many of my friends had tailors making their suits for a throat-cutting 600 bucks. I did go around the world, and I bought my suit with just a laughable sum of RM80. Muahahahahaa…just imagine what can I do with the 520 bucks I’ve just saved. Okay, maybe you rich people don’t care bout the sum, but I must tell you: “my time will come!”
If you guys wonder where did I find a bargain like that, it is in Kamdar of Mid Valley. Maybe most of you over-looked the shop, or you cared too much about the brand of your suit. In this case, I wish you could be comfortable with the flattening of your wallet. I’ve got my shirt for another 50 bucks in FOS, 50 is still under 100, so it’s still okay for me.
It’s less than 48 hours to prom right now, but I’ve yet to find the right priced leather shoes. My father’s feet are smaller than mine, and please, don’t tell me to wear my police cadet shoes (LOL!). As if they are the only shoes I can afford. Anyway, they are too shiny and will attract too much attention. I can even use it as an alternative mirror sometimes to comb my hair.
I’ve yet to find a dance partner. I can’t elaborate this part, but having a partner or not, I’ll still have fun.
At the end of the day, prom really means trading cash for 5 hours of memories. Make sure you guys bring along your camera and snap loads of pictures!
