Sibling rivalry

While spending hours rushing assignments in the library, I manage to try out Lloyd's PortaPro.

It is technically correct to call the PortaPro the older brother because the Sporta is the watered-down version of PortaPro. Although they house the same driver, SportaPro is actually made with more cheaper materials (ie plastic > metal). For that reason, the SportaPro is 60% cheaper than the PortaPro.

Like brothers, they might have different traits, but deep down they run the same blood. The PortaPro is actually the flagship of Koss since the 80s, and the success of the design and engineering has made it survived until now. That explains the old school design of the PortaPro and also the popularity with audiophiles.

After listening it for quite some time, I find the PortaPro has more bass than the Sporta, but my SportaPro seems to have a crystal clear treble? Maybe it has got to do with the burn-in time because I listen to mine an average of 4 hours a day. No regrets getting it at all because it is the best headphones I ever used in my life.

Anyway, I found out how down to earth a PhD student can be. I did not bother much to communicate with him at first because I thought he was a sloppy person judging by the way he dresses. Not until my friend told me he is a gold medalist scholar and loves to help people with academic woes. I really need to eat some humble pie...
