After my last post, I went to Pangkor with my class. It was meant to be a fun trip, but it turned out plagued with several unhappy incidents. At the end, 5s1 will still always be 5s1, separated into gangs and just “mengumpat” others who they “bo song”. Thankfully I’m not into gangs. It’s just pure childish and you do not get anything out of it.
Anyway, I did have some memorable moments from the trip. I scored with a nice curling shot in the first day when we guys played “beach football”. (We anticipated a beautiful beach to play football, but it turned out to be a narrow and slanting beach. Fortunately there was a normal football field in front of our chalets.) My sore throat worsen that night and I lost my voice. Hell it was really a bad time, cause my roommates (Jason, Yan Ming, Yee Ler, Zhen Qiang and Geoh Soon) were having an intriguing tittle-tattle session. I had trouble using sign language, cause they were so intense they ignored me! The second night the 6 of us, with the help of Huey Hoong and Si Xuan planned to prank the girls with an ugly green mask with orange hair Geoh Soon brought. The mask was so ugly; we even had a few frights ourselves! The planning was error-free and the impact was massive! The girls screamed so loud, Yan Ming and me, who were hiding in our chalet 80 meters away laugh the shit out of us.
The second day I went kayaking with Wey Lok and friends. We rowed so far we stopped at an abandoned beach on the other side of the island. We found a dead jellyfish floating near the shore and lifted it up with our oar. It was huge, heavy and has a transparent human-like skin. We poked its thick skin with satay sticks; and when the sticks got through, we played with its jelly-like inner substance (LOL!). It was my first time to encounter a jellyfish up close and personal. Too bad it was not advisable to bring cameras with us when we kayak. The whole trip we spent half of our free and easy time playing water polo. It’s similar to handball, but the best part is we get to splash water to blind others. I did had a lot of fun scoring goals, even though I was humiliated half the time by girls because I don’t know how to swim! Yeah, I’d be the first to be drowned if I live in Johor.
Overall, I did enjoy the trip myself. As I have said, 5s1 will always be 5s1. I just regret not bringing my family camera to the trip.
